can you tell my favourite animal? thats a trick question bc my favourite animal is definitely cats but theres few cat decorations i like unfortunately... well can you guess my second favourite animal?
their names are salt & pepper (very original) which is a little misleading bc the black chicken actually holds nutmeg. ive had these so long i actually cant remember when and where i got them but im still a little sad that the holes are at the backs of their heads and not in their beaks. tragic missed opportunity
all three found at the local secondhand store over the last three years, im super obsessed with the jug (orange top removable) its such a fun design i cant imagine ever giving this away (but thank you to whoever did)
milli & maggi, the side chickens from the previous picture, found them at some deco store a while back and theyre so fun to me. twins who sit on the windowsill behind the sink and i imagine them gossiping all day long
my friend who compulsively stole from stores got this for me from some art supply store and it has scratches on the underside from the keys that were in the pocket she stuffed it in. we haven't been friends in a very long time but i do think of her sometimes when i look at the chicken and wonder how she's doing. i made a scarf for it one winter and also a tiny hat but that got lost in the last move somewhere :(
latest finds from a deco store and they are so fucking cute i can not believe it. theyre so tiny. they sit on the vent thing above my stove and the things behind it are the salt&pepper shakers i use most for cooking so every time i reach for them now, i see the chickens and smile and give them some head scritches :) they dont have names yet but will definitely go into the category of chickens that will, currently considering frieda&frauke bc those names are hiiiiiigh on my future pet chicken names list and do seem like theyd fit
he doesnt look like it but hes actually one of my oldest og plushies, over 30yrs old now. i think my mom got him when i was 1 or 2 around that time? he got lucky bc i was obsessed with my first ever cat plushie so all the cuddling happened with that one and in my room i had this small wooden house that my dad had built and i insisted that the rooster gets to sit on top so thats where he spent most of his time. he doesnt have a name and has always just been "the rooster" lol
found this guy in the window of a bookstore in slovenia when i was hiking there with my friend a few years back. i went into the store and looked around for more and then the cashier was sweet enough to climb into the window display and get him for me bc he was actually the last one they had
wiebke, i bought her at a christmas market in my home city and shes actually much more than just a plushie. she has her stomach filled with cherry pits so you can pop her in the microwave for a minute and she gets all warm and extra cuddly. i dont have a microwave anymore but she is also just great to cuddle with in general bc she is weighted from the cherry pits so i often just have her sitting on my stomach when i lie in bed which is really calming
also found in the local secondhand store, i know its a candle holder but i never like how candle holders look with a super tall candle inside, but for the candle to get small, it has to be tall and get burned down first. a hurdle i seem unable to overcome.....
also a very recent find and she is sooooo cute she fits into the palm of my hand and the best word to describe her is ✨️deligtful✨️. easter is a dangerous time for me bc there is so many yellow and chicken themed decorations in the stores that i just want to spend all my money on
honorable mention i know theyre not chickens but listen. theyre cute. everyone calls them ugly and tacky and i dont care i love them
okkk that was it i was lying im not actually taking a shower i just wanted to show off my chickens because i love them <3
